Keep Up, Catch up
We have had the great fortune recently of spending time with many of our various cousins, from different parts of the country, and different parts of the World. The kids have been loving every minute of it. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful family, some that live neer us, and the others that come and visit us from great distances!

Time seems to slip away without us realizing! Life goes on in the Heyes household. There are new photos posted on FLICKR, which include a few that where done for a project with Stephens work. ENJOY!

So, things are going well here at the Heyes Household. First and foremost, I found out that I actually passed my CGFNS nusing exam that I had to go to Chicago to take! It is very exciting that I only have one exam to go (NCLEX-RN) till I have my RN liscence here in the US! I will hopefully find out in the next few days when I can take that one!
My Garden is doing well… It produced this rather nice head of broccoli… which was DELICIOUS! We also have lots of lettuce, zuchinni and cucumbers on their way!
Kristian is still REALLY enjoying school, and we are amazed at the development we see daily. He is really benifiting from such a fun and educationaly stimulating environment!
And Erin continues to grow, along with her hair… very pweety pwetty
Erin also loves to think she is “helping” us with everything.
And the cats? Well, they are making themselves quite at home!
So, we have added to the family, two cute 10 month male old cats. We adopted them from the Neenah animal shelter, who got them as strays and named them kit and kat. We like the names, so will call them that too… I think its obvious in the photos that they have been a HUGE hit with the kids…. Ste, not so much… he’s been sneezing ever since we got them
Hes willing to give it a try though, and we have been researching different ways of keeping the dander down. Overall, pets sure do add another dimension to the family…
I think the cats are EXTREMELY hungry for any attention they can get, because, as you can see, they are also EXTREMELY tolerant of the kids!

So, here is what we have been doing lately…

We are selling our van…
it is really nice… Wanna buy it???
We made a trip to Chicago so i could take a Nursing Exam… It was REALLY tough… will find out in a few weeks if I passed or not.
This is Erin’s idea of “helping with supper!”
We experienced what it would be like having 6 kids… Not bad actually
We had a lot fun at the Timber Rattlers Baseball game (local Appleton team.)
So, what else is new??? Not a whole lot… I’ve been working a lot, and Ste has been working from home quite a bit. Also, Ive been keeping up with weeding and watering the garden, which I have been pleasantly surprised with the plants progress… I can see some baby zucchini out there, and we have had a few fresh salads already too! All in all, we are having a fun and healthy summer… long may it last! Oh, and I will try to update this more frequently now… Good intentions are worth something, right?

Well, it turns out that the first predator in my garden ( or rather weed patch ) was a HUGE snapping turtle. By the size of her, we figure she must be about 30-40 years old! We wondered what she was doing there, but it soon became obvious as she dug a hole and laid 35 eggs! It was amazing to see, and grandpa says probably a once in a life time opportunity! The ground around here is mostly clay, and after a bit of research, we found out that turtle eggs do better in sand. So we decided to dig them up and “plant” them in a tray of sand. I don’t think we are messing with nature too much here, as the little babys fend for themselves when they hatch, and have no contact with the mother. The incubation period is 9-18 weeks, so that means that at the end of August, we could have a bunch of tiny little turtle friends… how exciting

Lots of Cupcakes, pretty dresses, and fun… What more could a little girl need?
We got Erin (and Kristian of course) a little swimming pool for her birthday, which I now realize that I don’t have any photos of yet! Will have to add some when I take them. There will be lots of opportunity of course, as it is ROASTING hot in WI now!
